About Richard Haynes, the owner of Total Joint Fitness, LLC.
I have become a fitness since 1978 after suffering a serious motorcycle accident several years prior which left me with multiple fractures and two major surgeries to save my right leg. After spending nearly seven months bed bound, I learned how quickly the human body deteriorates without exercise.
I later went to work in the in the automobile industry for close to ten years before I knew one day that this was not my calling. Once I decided enough was enough, I stepped out on faith alone to embark on an occupation I had a passion for and that was fitness and physical rehabilitation. I went back to college to get my degree in physical therapy and received my license to practice in 1995.
I have now been working in the field of physical therapy since 1995 and later became a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise in June of 2000. I have obtained extensive experience with my years of practice with orthopedic patients and clients in regards to their physical rehabilitation and increasing their fitness levels after injury or elective surgery.
Having undergone a total knee replacement, myself in 1999 I understand the importance of the physical rehabilitation process and how important it is to not only continue to keep yourself in good physical condition after surgery but to look for ways to increase your physical fitness and exceed all your previous boundaries both physically and mentally.
“I am a big proponent that to live your life at the highest quality possible as you age, it will all depend on the food you eat, the exercises you do and the thoughts you think!”
Working with seniors and seeing what the lack of exercise and not having a pro‐active attitude does to the human body and spirit, I decided to dedicate my life to helping educate those that want to live a higher and healthier quality of life through fitness, coaching, and helping to develop a mindset to overcome the challenges that we as seniors will face in today’s environment in healthcare and the financial burden it places on all of us.
As a senior, myself, I understand how important it is for older adults to take a proactive approach to their healthcare and physical fitness today so that tomorrow you will live the life you have envisioned for yourself. Adopt the attitude, it’s never too late. I created Total Joint Fitness to help older adults 50+, to rebuild their bodies and minds so that they can lives their lives as independently as possible and to help keep their healthcare costs to a minimum.
I know you cannot stop all illness that may affect us however, you can take charge in preventing chronic illnesses from dominating your life with the proper information and guidance. I have developed an online personal training program and coaching package to help you with your exercise journey.
My goal is to help in building stronger individuals like yourself no matter if you live down the street or halfway around the world. I would like to hear from you if you have decided to take charge of your life and to begin strengthening your body and mind through a dedicated physical rehabilitation or exercise program.
